Over the years I have worked in a variety of treatment settings with diverse populations. While studying in California, I worked as a child therapist, family therapist, and individual therapist at a mental health outpatient clinic and a child and play therapist at both an elementary school and an inpatient child psychiatric unit. It was also in California where I received specialized training and supervision as a play therapist and sand tray therapist. Upon arriving in Philadelphia, where I currently reside, I have worked as a child and family therapist and clinical coordinator at a partial hospital program for emotionally and behaviorally disordered children, provided in-home child therapy, family therapy, and behavior modification, and worked as a behavior specialist within the Philadelphia School District. While living briefly in Washington, DC, serving as clinical director, I helped create from inception a community based mental health program for children and families. In addition, I was the supervisor and program director of a foster care program, working with abused and neglected children committed to the City of Philadelphia. Currently, I have a private practice in Philadelphia where I continue to counsel children, families, couples and individuals. I have experience working with toddlers through teenagers presenting with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and school issues. Some of those concerns include anger problems, temper tantrums, depression, anxiety and fears, ADHD, separation and attachment issues, school and social phobias, sibling issues, abuse, drug use in teenagers, divorce, school pressure, and opposition and defiance – to name a few. So, please know that regardless of what your concern is about, I have experience with basic parenting, behavior problems, mental health diagnoses, emotional changes, navigating the tumultuous teenage years, and more - I have the experience necessary to be a trusted resource.
