Question: My children are Olivia,7, and Jacob, 9, their biological father and his entire family has been out of their lives for almost 4 years. We are in the process of arranging for my current husband to adopt them and we are at the stage of deciding name changes or not. My son is adamant that he wants to take my husbands last name and my daughter is dead against it. I've talked to them both thoroughly about this. I don't want to go against either of wishes but would also like everyone to agree on the subject. What do I do?

Question: My son is studying in class 9. He is good at maths and science at home or at school, but he does not perform well in examinations. He has private tutors who say that they do not know the reason. My son says that when he gets the question paper in the exam hall, all seems blank to him. Please suggest what to do now and what to advise him. Debashis

Question: My mother in law has gone to Australia to visit, she is planning on staying there and bringing her child over to Australia at the end of the year when he passes his grade 10.  At the moment he is staying with us.  He doesn’t listen when we talk and he does whatever he wants.  It is stressful as we are a newly wedded couple and he just does as he feels. This past weekend he left to got to Lusito Land on Friday and he has not returned as yet, no matter what we ask or say. He then let my husband know that he is moving out, who is going to take him to school and make sure that he passes his grade? He has already failed his grade and he repeating.  Please can you assist with some advice. Greatly appreciated, Angelique

picture of sleeping babyI am an older mum pregnant with my second child, my first child is from a previous marriage and is 17. When I was bringing up my son I had not even thought of sleeping in a bed with him, my husband at the time was quite conservative and by upbringing so was I. We put Ashton into a cot in his own room from very early on, without thinking that there might be another way to do it. Ashton has never been an easy sleeper and has always been anxious, often had nightmares and in general sleep has been an issue for him. Now that I am pregnant with my second child my new husband and I are discussing where our baby should sleep and if he should sleep in the bed with us. What do you think is the right thing to do?
